MOOD BOARD&ARTIST STATEMENT

Old Navy is known for is modern casual, comfort, and standard, basic pieces. They are the ultimate “All-American” brand; think of 4th of July or state school and sportswear. Old Navy is family friendly, having items for all ages and genders, accessories, and shoes. They are stylish, yet affordable and modest. They are known for bold prints and colors as well as staple pieces.

I drew my inspiration from old western films as they are a huge symbol of the American dream, adventures, freedom, and the good ol’ days. A majority of these films have used color palettes of reds, yellows, oranges, blues, tans, and creams. This seemed to fit well with the boldness and intensity of Old Navy. I also drew a bit of inspiration from the American national parks as they are such a recognizable part of America as well.
