About the Designer
My full name is Georgia Bowser, but I go by George. Fashion design is my chosen profession because I cannot imagine a world where I am not a seamstress, designer, and creator. As a young child and till now, I filled notebook after notebook with drawings dresses, shirts and pants. I started designing and assembling my own doll clothes and it grew into making clothes for myself. Throughout the years, my desire to become a fashion designer never waivered. I have found my interests have narrowed into a historical costumer, working with men’s construction wear, or the petite woman. I love the creativity and boundless possibilities that apparel design brings. Where something that is helpful and useful meets fun and attractive to be adorned on all sorts of people.
Second only to my love of apparel design, I have found history and literature to enhance my desire to create. I like to use knowledge of history and literature to inspire the cyclical wheel of apparel design. I appreciate the stories of where fashions have come from. By applying new learning and mixing these things together, I want to see if I can make the world better. By creating from the past, using the present fabrics and technologies, I hope to develop garments that makes the future more beautiful.
